Funding Alert Services
A number of electronic
services are available free to researchers who wish
to automatically receive e-mail notices of funding
opportunities and other important news in their research
areas. For assistance with any of these services, please
contact funding@research.ucsb.edu.
Customized Alert Services
- Grants.gov is
a recently launched, centralized clearing-house for
federal grants. Four e-mail registration options
are available: selected notices based on solicitation
number; selected agencies and categories of funding
activities; selected interest and eligibility groups;
or all grants notices.
- IRIS (UCSB
only) Your search profile will be run automatically
at specified intervals (daily/weekly/monthly) and
will alert you (via e-mail or web interface) to upcoming
funding opportunities in your areas of interest.

- National
Science Foundation Update provides a customized notification of NSF program announcements.
- National
Institutes of Health includes the full text of all Requests for Applications, Program Announcements,
and Notices.
- U.S.
Department of Education (EDInfo) sends two e-mail messages a week that feature new reports, budget updates,
research and statistics, and funding opportunities.

EPA receives grant and funding announcements as they are posted to the National
Center for Environmental Research and Quality Assurance

Department of Justice biweekly newsletter.
- Federal
Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of
federal agencies and organizations, as well as
executive orders and other presidential documents.
Users can sign up for their publication listserv.
- The
Foundation Center is a resource for nonprofit agencies and provides users the opportunity to sign
up for several e-mail newsletters including the
Philanthropy News Digest and a weekly RFP Bulletin
that includes recently announced Requests for Proposals
from private, corporate, and government funding
sources.
